10th INTERNATIONAL SPRING SEMINAR ON NUCLEAR PHYSICS
NEW QUESTS IN NUCLEAR STRUCTURE

First Circular

Dear Colleague,
The Tenth International Spring Seminar on Nuclear Physics will be held in Vietri sul Mare (50 km from Naples, 2 km from Salerno) from May 21 to 25, 2010. It is sponsored by the University of Naples, the Italian Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN), and the Department of Physics of the University of Naples. The Seminar will take place at the Lloyd's Baia Hotel, which is a pleasant four-star hotel facing the bay of Salerno.
This Seminar is the tenth in a series of topical meetings to be held every two or three years in the Naples area; the series began with the Sorrento meeting in May 1986 and continued with the Capri meeting in May 1988, the Ischia meeting in May 1990, the Amalfi meeting in May 1992, the Ravello meeting in May 1995, the S. Agata meeting in 1998, the Maiori meeting in May 2001, the Paestum meeting in May 2004, and the Vico Equense meeting in May 2007. It will maintain the general spirit and intent of the earlier meetings by providing to a group of researchers, whose interests center on nuclear structure, the opportunity to discuss their current work and confront their points of view.
The Seminar will focus on recent achievements and new goals in nuclear structure experiment and theory. The main topics to be covered are:

• Nuclear structure far from stability: new advances and perspectives
• From nuclear forces to nuclear structure
• Exploring nuclear shell structure: experiment and theory
• New aspects of collective nuclear motion
• Special topics

The program will consist of both invited and contributed talks. The Seminar Proceedings will be published. A registration fee will be charged which will include a copy of the proceedings.

The second circular providing detailed information on the program, contributions and accommodation will appear on our Web site byy the end of February. We hope that you will be able to attend.
